Montana Alumnae Chapter News

January marked the kickoff of a busy and exciting year for the Montana Alumnae Chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta. Our first meeting was held January 20 at the Wingate Inn in Bozeman, and though we woke up with several inches of snow on the ground, a number of people braved the weather and contributed to what was a successful and productive meeting. We discussed several options for events throughout the year and set the calendar. We also chose fundraising events and a community service project. A common theme we will be seeing is a cooperative effort with the collegiate chapter in philanthropy and supporting its members through gifts and advising. The main goal of the alumnae chapter is not only to be in good standing, but to be a Five Star Chapter.

Our second meeting was held February 10 and was hosted by Sara Prescott in Bozeman. We reviewed the Alumnae Chapter Bylaws and held Officer Installation. The meeting was followed by a delicious dinner the attendees cooked.

An informal meeting and get-together was held February 16 and was hosted by Dana Donovan in Billings. It was well-attended and was a really fun night of potluck and board games. We talked about the upcoming events for the year and socialized.

The Montana Alumnae Chapter hosted a Networking Program and New Member Party for the collegians May 31. We did a few simple networking activities and then held our ice cream social for the new members. The two new members who were about to initiate, Kira Klebe and Tori Dennis were presented with gifts from the alumnae.

Over the weekend of April 11-13, our Province Director, Sharon Winter, traveled from Seattle to Bozeman to meet with the members of the Delta Gamma Collegiate Chapter and the Montana Alumnae Chapter. Each collegiate team met with Sharon, as well as the alumnae chapter team. The meetings went very well and it was a great opportunity to put a face on someone who is so important to the function of our chapters. We had a dinner at Colombo's to wrap up the event.

International Reunion Day was held April 19 at the Delta Gamma Chapter House. It was a great success and a busy day. We kicked off with Senior Rededication where five members took part in the ceremony: Tess Romero, Brittany Callahan, Tania Mittleider, Melissa Bradley and Colleen Farrell. Our annual House Association meeting followed. The final event was the luncheon with our raffle fundraiser, which was a lot of fun!
